Structural Line Conventions

Dielines utilize standardized visual colors to communicate mechanical functions directly to die-cut presses and printing rollers.

Bleed Lines (Blue)

Bleed Overlap Requirements

Bleed lines are highlighted in a dotted blue profile, situated exactly 3mm outside the final cut boundaries. Extend all background artworks, flood tones, and decorative graphic edges fully out to this line to prevent raw white cardboard edges from appearing due to slight shifting during industrial sheet cutting.

Crease Lines (Red)

Crease & Folding Thresholds

Folding axes are marked with dashed red lines. These designate the precise coordinates where the cardboard sheets will be pressed or creased inside the factory before manual or machine assembly. Keep typography or layout components well centered away from these lines to avoid fold distortion.

Cut Lines (Black)

Cut Boundary Solid Profile

Cut boundaries are depicted with solid black lines. These lines instruct the computer-guided die steel blades where to punch out the card shapes from flat paperboards. The cut line marks the absolute physical limits of your finished box face.

Safety Margins (Green)

Inner Safe Zone Margin

Safety margins are represented by green boundaries sitting exactly 3mm inside the cut lines. All typography, product labels, B2B logotypes, or crucial graphic ingredients must remain completely within this safe zone limit to shield them from getting clipped or positioned too close to edges.
